Today’s Gold Nugget: Prepare or Repair
What are your plans for the future? What you do today shapes who you will become tomorrow. My friend, let me tell you: doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results is insanity. That’s why preparing for the future is crucial.
To achieve the life you’ve always wanted, I encourage you to reflect on what needs to change, what needs to stop, and what needs to start being implemented. This way, you can avoid having to fix today’s mistakes in the future. Regret is a terrible feeling.
Taking small steps daily can make a huge difference later. Figure out what needs to change and start working on it today, even if it’s just making a list.
What do you really, really want?
- Be healthy, lose weight, or change some destructive habits?
- Work on your marriage or better raise your kids?
- Change career or job you are unhappy and complain about?
- Better performance in your studies or school?
- Regain peace of mind? Reduce high stress?
- Drop certain acquaintances (friends) that weigh you down and keep you from achieving your goals and wants.
It is said that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Are these people encouraging you to reach for the stars, or are they mocking you when you desire to make changes and pursue big dreams? It’s okay to want something different. Take an inventory to see who agrees with the changes you need to make and the vision you have for your future. If they don’t align then prune, and cut off the dead weight.
The next step is to have the courage to move on. Make small or radical changes that will set you on the path of the new you. Here’s a secret: you don’t need to know all the answers or have any resources to start. You don’t need to see exactly how it will all work out. The Lord will lead you every step of the way, guiding and showing you things you don’t know. He will make a way where there is no way. God’s greatest pleasure is to fulfill our needs and make amazing things happen. And you know what? He is very creative! So, make Him the Source of all you do. He owns everything and wants to share it with you.
Your part in this is to know what you want and believe (have faith in God) that you can have it or achieve it in Him.
