Today’s Gold Nugget: DREAM
Do you struggle to understand how to receive or discover what you really want or what you really desire in life? Well, today I want to share something I experienced last year. For the past four years I am supporting a ministry and each year around March I received an advertisement for their conference. Every time I looked at it, I said, “I hope I can make it to this conference this year. I really want to go!” This happened for three years in a row. And as you might have guessed, I never made it! There was always something in the way that prevented me to go.
So, last year around March, I received the same invitation for the conference. I looked at it and was thinking, “This really stinks! I always want to go, and something always gets in the way. I really hope I can make it this year”. Then something happened. This thought came to me, why don’t you put this invitation on your vision board and keep it before your eyes? Wow, I never thought about it. So, I did. As I often glazed at my vision board, I thanked the Lord and prayed for each goal and desire pinned on it to come to pass.
Then in August, coming back from Myrtle Beach, SC, we passed the place where the conference is held. I pointed at it and said out loud, “In November, Melina and I will be at this conference. Thank you, Jesus!”.
So came September and I asked Melina if she wanted to go with me to this conference and she was thrilled about it. By faith, I booked a hotel room for two nights. They didn’t have a room at the hotel I wanted to stay, but they offered me another one in a sister hotel five minutes down the road and the price was very reasonable.
The time came. However, a few days prior, Melina had to go to the emergency room for excruciating pain in her shoulder. She tore a tendon, but still decided to go. The ride takes about two and a half hours. It was raining that day, so we left early at 1:30 pm to give us enough time to settle down at the hotel and grab a bite to eat before the first service.
Do you know it took us six hours to get there?! There were six accidents along the way. The traffic was bumper to bumper from Baltimore all the way down to Woodbridge, VA. We finally made it, arriving half an hour late. However, the blessings started. The services were exceptionally powerful. The anointing and presence of God were very strong. By the end of the second day, Melina was able to lift up her arm, which she could barely move due to the pain. Wow!
Walking into the hotel was another surprise. It was built three months prior, super modern, with all the amenities you could think of. The room was a suite, with a full kitchen! Good healthy breakfast included. What a treat 🙂
So, I am sharing this to encourage you to dream big and discover what you really want. Don’t discard the impossible desire that you have, because with God nothing is impossible to those who believe.
Ephesians 3:20
Steps how to receive what you desire and want:
- Be obedient to God’s Word, His will
- Keep the dream before your eyes with an image or written down on paper
- Review it daily
- Be grateful by thanking the Lord to make a way
- Keep the faith. Fight discouragement. Press on, don’t give up
- Expect it to come to pass. The appointed time will come
Now, think about what you really desire to be or accomplish. Take a pen and paper and start writing down what’s in your heart.
Psalm 20:4
If by any chance, you feel like you are not where you should be concerning your relationship with the Lord, please make it right. He receives you with open arms and loves you unconditionally. Ask for forgiveness, turn around, and be willing and obedient to do whatever He’s asked you to do. Remember whatever it is, He always has your best interest and welfare in mind. Trust Him. This is a new day, a new hour, and a new year. Make it count, you will not regret it ❤️
