5 Keys from Desperation to Restoration

“But this is a people robbed and plundered; all of them are snared in
holes, and they are hidden in prison houses; They are for prey, and
NO ONE DELIVERSFor plunder, and NO ONE SAYS, RESTORE!

Isaiah 42:22

Are you experiencing setbacks or difficulties? Has Satan attacked your marriage, your family, your health, your mind, your finances, or your business? Then I have good news! Our God is a God of restoration. No matter how devastated your life is, God can turn it around. He is great at turning things around.

So now it’s not the time to give up, but it’s time to get fed up! Get fed up with your situation and take back what Satan has stolen from you. God promises that He will restore double for your trouble. And that, my friend, is great news!

I want to share 5 keys from God’s Word to experience a significant turnaround in your life and see God restore your life:

Key #1: Return to God

Return to your fortress (God), you prisoners of hope; even now
I announce that I will restore twice as much to you

Zechariah 9:12

It’s not the time to run from God, but it’s time to run to God! Don’t let the devil deceive you by believing God doesn’t care about you, God is not interested in your breakthrough, or God sent this unfortunate circumstance to prove something to you, or to teach you something, or to humble you, or to show you how much He loves you. That’s ALL a lie! God is not behind the attack, He didn’t cause it or create it. However, God is behind the victory.

Key #2: Resist the devil

“So, humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”

James 4:7

Your enemy, Satan, enjoys nothing more than stealing from you, killing, and destroying your life. He is a deceiver and the father of lies. There is no truth in him and he hates you with perfect hatred. He goes as far as telling you that God is the cause of your pain. The sad part is most of God’s children believe this lie. And if you do, break agreement with it. God is good ALL the time! Psalm 100:5 – Psalm 145:9.

“The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil;
my desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword; my hand
shall destroy them”

Exodus 15:9

  • We resist him by believing, obeying, and doing the will of God (His Word)
  • We resist him by repenting from our sins (stop doing what’s not pleasing to God)
  • We resist him by not listening to his lies (speak the truth found in the Word, and cast down/break agreement with every thought that is against what God says)

Key #3: Use your Sword

I heard this truth: “You will never outgrow warfare, you must simply learn to fight!”

As long as you live, you will have to fight. Paul said to fight the good fight of faith, for it is the violent who take the kingdom by force. Overcomers are those who persevere, who don’t give up, and won’t take no for an answer. Just like the story of the woman with the issue of blood, blind Bartimaeus, Joseph, Jacob, Job, the woman coming to the judge, etc.

The Word teaches us we are not fighting against flesh and blood. This means we are not fighting against each other or ourselves, but we fight the enemy of our soul: Satan.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able
to stand against the schemes of the devil”

Ephesians 6:12

One part of the armor is the sword, which is the Word of God. We use our sword when we speak His promises, His will, and when we declare/proclaim things that are not as though they are Romains 4:17b. Such as I am healed, I am strong in the Lord, I am the head and not the tail, I am courageous and I prosper in all things I put my mind and hand to, etc.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the Wilderness, He fought the good fight of faith by using His sword. He resisted the devil each time he came by using what is written in God’s Word. He kept saying, “It is written…” Matthew 4:1-11.

Key #4: Seek the Kingdom

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you”

Matthew 6:33

Paul said, For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” Rom. 14:17. These are the things we should be seeking and thriving for. And if we do, all the things we desire, all the things we want, and all the things we need will be provided for us.

Jesus teaches us to pray, “Let your kingdom come and your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven”. His will is restoration, peace, joy, favor, and abundance in all things. He came to destroy the works of the devil and to give us life in abundance John 10:10 – I John 3:8.

“Seek, keep on seeking and you will find. Ask, keep on asking and it will
be given unto you. Knock, keep on knocking and the door will open”

Matthew 7:7 AMP

Key #5: Pray for your friends

“And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends.
And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before”

Job 42:10

This is called the prayer of reciprocity. When you pray for someone in need, you position yourself to receive your own miracle. Job’s friends and wife were telling him to curse God, accusing him to have sinned and doing something horrible to deserve the devastation he was experiencing. He didn’t agree with their words but trusted God. Then when he prayed for them, God restored him and gave him double what Satan had destroyed and stolen from him.

Here’s a thought: did Job need double what he lost? He was the richest man on earth. Wouldn’t that be enough to get back what was stolen from him? God didn’t think so. He ALWAYS blesses above and beyond!

“If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with prosperity
throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant”

Job 36:11

“Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor.
You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land,
and everlasting joy will be yours”

Isaiah 61:7

Now I encourage you to stop listening to the lies of the enemy concerning your struggles. Cast them down and begin to speak God’s Word. If you will hold fast to His promises, then God will turn your captivity around and follow it with signs and wonders. He is a faithful God, He loves you and will not disappoint you, nor will He let you down. So, give Him something to work with. Let your thoughts become His thoughts, and let your words agree with His Word. Tell Him you believe He can turn your captivity.

Declare this out loud: “God is turning my captivity and God is restoring my life!”

“My Word is at work so be at peace.
The works of your adversity are about to cease.
He thought he had you, but I always come through.
I turn things around like I said I would do.
It’s never over until I have my say,
that’s why I am called the Truth and the Way.
I watch over My Word when you choose to stand,
and I’ll bring deliverance again and again.
So never give up and refuse to give in,
it’s almost over you’re about to win!”

-Jerry Savelle

I am a witness that God restores. When the thief, Satan, strikes he must restore up to seven times according to Proverb 6:30-31 and “By this I know You delight in me, for my enemy does not triumph over me” -Psalm 41:11.

I encourage you to watch and read these testimonies below of the faithfulness, goodness, and love of God. One is from a dear friend who was a shining star for the Lord, for all who knew him. Sadly, he went home to be with the Lord at a young age. The other testimony is from his nephew, also a precious man of God. His blessing is from generation to generation. The last testimony is my story, of how the Lord restored me from total desperation and devastation. He restored me to the point I am no longer the person you read about. When the Lord sets you free you are free indeed. He is still in the business of restoring lives today 🙂 You can purchase the complete version which includes “Understanding God’s Ways”  (<- click on it) which will help you in your walk with God and how to live the abundant life Jesus promised us in John 10:10. The last video, “You will never outgrow warfare, you must simply learn to fight” will show you who is behind some of your most difficult situations.
