What are You Putting Up With?

If you are like me, you tend to get overwhelmed, frustrated, energy depleted and restless. There’s just too much to do and so little time to do it! When the feeling of “being all over the place at once” creeps up, you know it is time to do some mental declutter.

When you free up some head space you will experience that same feeling you get when you clean, sort out and organize an area. That feeling of relief, accomplishment, happiness and peace of mind.

One of the best strategies to free up mental space is through writing. I created a worksheet just for that: Tolerances: Clear Your Mind. Download it and start to identify and write down all tasks, projects, frustrations, to-dos, etc. (the tool gives you more ideas).

Once your list is done, start with one thing that is important to you. Do it the same day or the next. You can start small, with maybe 15-20 minutes. If some don’t apply anymore just delete them. When one task is finish, cross it off and go to the next one, and so on.

For problems and personal issues, I encourage you to keep a separate journal. Writing about them will help you sort out your thoughts and feelings, so you can find wisdom and create solutions.

Other daily approach to keep focus and peace of mind:

  • Review your personal goals
  • Journal and meditate
  • Plan your to-do list in the morning (can be done the night before)
  • Start an early routine before everyone else gets up
  • Exercise (reduces stress)
  • Declutter your room (your environment impacts your mood)
  • Be grateful (for at least 3 things)
